Frequently Asked Questions

The harp is far more versatile than most people expect, and part of what I do is help you discover what's possible.

Please fill out the contact form if you cannot find an answer to your question.

In addition to weddings, I perform for a variety of private and corporate events, including for milestone birthdays, retirement celebrations, baby and bridal showers, anniversary parties, holiday gatherings, galas, cocktail receptions, restaurants, church and memorial services, and more.

Wherever beautiful music can help create an elegant and memorable atmosphere, the harp is a wonderful addition.

Often, yes.

The harp is surprisingly versatile and can beautifully adapt music from many styles, including classical, worship, jazz, soul, film scores, Broadway, pop, rock, folk, and video game soundtracks. If there is a song that is meaningful to you, I would love to hear it.

While not every piece translates effectively to the harp, I will always explore the possibilities and provide thoughtful recommendations. Some of the most memorable moments come from hearing a beloved song transformed into something unexpected.

We'll start with a conversation about the atmosphere you'd like to create and any musical preferences you already have.

From there, I'll provide a repertoire list featuring a wide variety of selections. Together, we'll narrow down the options and build a program that feels authentic to your celebration. If there are additional songs you'd like to include that aren't already in my repertoire, we can discuss custom arrangements as well.

In many intimate settings, the harp projects beautifully on its own. For larger venues, outdoor ceremonies, or events with significant guest counts, amplification is often recommended.

If amplification is needed, it is typically provided and managed by the venue, planner, DJ, or audio-visual team. I'm happy to coordinate with them regarding technical requirements to ensure the best possible sound for your event.

Yes, this is a crucial part of ensuring your event goes smoothly. I take a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to every event, working closely with you and your vendor team to ensure the music integrates seamlessly into your celebration from start to finish.

The harp is a fine wooden instrument that must be protected from rain, excessive humidity, and extreme temperatures.

For outdoor events, the harp must be placed under adequate cover, such as a tent, pavilion, awning, or similar structure. A stable, level surface is also required beneath the instrument, such as a wooden platform, patio, or other hard surface.

Specific setup requirements are outlined in my contract, and I am happy to coordinate with your planner or venue to ensure everything is arranged properly.

I perform on a Lyon & Healy Style 23 concert grand pedal harp, one of the most respected and sought-after harps in the world. Handcrafted in Chicago and heard on concert stages, in symphony orchestras, and at prestigious music conservatories, it is renowned for its rich, resonant sound. Its elegant hand-carved column and gilded soundboard make it a stunning visual centerpiece.

I typically perform in a floor-length black gown that complements a wide range of event styles and venues. If your event has a specific color palette or dress code, I'm happy to discuss custom attire options. For clients who would like me to purchase a dress in a particular color, the cost of the attire can be incorporated into the contract.

Once you're ready to move forward, I'll send a contract and invoice for a 50% deposit to secure your date. The remaining balance is due one week prior to the event.

Weddings require a higher level of preparation and customization than most events. Weddings also involve extensive planning, coordination with vendors and planners, and precise timing during key moments such as the processional and recessional.

In addition, transporting and setting up a concert grand harp requires specialized care and logistics, particularly at outdoor venues or locations with challenging access.

Wedding pricing reflects the time, expertise, preparation, and attention to detail required to ensure every moment unfolds seamlessly.
